BMW在美国召回所有安装N63发动机的车型【包括550GT】
昨天去4S店检查我的大黑(550GT)的时候,我的Service Advisor告诉我说宝马针对N63发动机有召回,需要将我的车送到车间中检修至少2周,他们会测试我的N63引擎并将数据发还给BMW总部,然后对引擎进行维护。
今天早上我上网搜索了一下关于BMW N63的召回新闻,发现这是不久前才公布的召回计划。找了一个新闻截了图,标题是BMW N63 Customer Care Package: A recall That BMW Refuses To Call A Recall.翻译过来就是《宝马N63引擎客户关怀包:一个宝马拒绝称之为召回的召回》

上图就是我的维修单,其实在维修单上,宝马已经将此称之为Recall(召回)了。有两条Recall 分别是:
1. Recall E7x F0x F1x N63 US Customer care(engine 就是“召回底盘号为E7x F0x F1x使用N63发动机的车型,对于美国用户的关怀(引擎”
2. Recall B111614 N63 Check timing chain E7xF0xF1x 翻译来是“召回代码为B111614,检查N63的正时链条 针对E7x F0x F1x底盘号”
当然大家还可以看到有一条信息是我的右前轮扎了个钉子。。。我都没注意到之前,后来看到了发现好大一个=。=悲剧
最后一条是4S店会在车辆维护期间提供一辆代步车(rental car)一般是328或者320。当然我朋友还拿过带M套件的丁字裤方向盘带拨片328,这个全凭运气,不过最差也是320i。

这是叙述的为何会召回以及安装了N63发动机的涉及召回的车型,不知道中国是否也会召回。。。但是据我所知中国N63引擎保有量太少,基本见不到550GT 550i 750i或者X5 50i X6 50i等等涉及召回的车型,主要此类车型的排量大,进口关税高,导致国内价格虚高。基本装配了N63引擎的宝马的指导价格都在150万以上,基本这个价位大家也不会买这种车型,倒是这种车型在北美的保有量比较大。大家都喜欢大排量大马力的豪华车,对于5系GT来说,顶配引擎就只能选到N63,而550i相较于M5 750i相较于760i还是便宜不少的,所以有不少人选择购买50i的车型。

Not too long ago, we were telling you that BMW’s N63 4.4-liter V8 engines are experiencing reliability issues and that in a lot of cases, the owners are downright disappointed in the way their plants perform.
不久前,N63 4.4升V8发动机遇到可靠性问题,顾客对此很失望。
The info came to us initially from a mechanic that had to deal with a lot of malfunctioning units. According to him, the plants weren’t even up to the 20,000-mile mark when they came to his attention, showing issues related to the injectors and mass air flow sensors that led to more serious issues.

Basically, most of the time, the engines would lock up and pistons would even crack the engine block due to the high pressure. Now, it seems like BMW is finally admitting its fault and issuing a massive recall called “N63 Customer Care Package”.

It will be a 2-part campaign for all cars fitted with the N63 engine. Mind you, this refers to the N63 plants alone, the ones making 407 HP and it doesn’t include to N63Tu version, the one with 450 HP. On the latter, the issues were solved apparently.
此次N63引擎是407匹的版本,不包括N63Tu 450匹马力版,因为N63Tu已经解决这个问题。(注:50i基本在13年后就配备了N63Tu发动机,而之前的车型配备的都是407匹马力的N63,我的550GT就是407匹的版本)
Issued as bulletin number B001314 on 29/12/2014 the recall will include checking the timing chain for stretching and replacing it if necessary, replacing the fuel injectors, mass air flow sensors, crankcase vent lines, battery, engine vacuum pump and low pressure fuel sensor.
12月29日发布了公告编号为B001314的召回,此项召回包括检查正时链条的延伸和更换,在必要情况下更换喷油嘴、空气质量流量传感器、曲轴箱排放管、电池、发动机真空泵、低压燃料传感器。
On top of all that, the service interval will be shortened to nearly half, with a 12 month/10,000 mile (16,000 km) check-up instead of the long-life treatment the BMW plants have today, requiring a check every 2 years and 15,000 miles (25,000 km).
同时,基于之前藐视的检测,车辆保养周期也要缩短至原来的一半,从现在宝马执行的长保养周期2年1.5万迈(约合2.5万公里)变为1年1万迈(约合1.6万公里)。
The best news about this recall is that it covers all cars fitted with these engines. That includes cars that have gone out of warranty, no matter how many miles they gathered on the clock.
在关本次召回中最好的消息是,此次召回涵盖了所有装有N63发动机的汽车,这包括已超出保修期的汽车,无论他们开了多少英里。
As you might imagine, changing all those parts on your car will take a while and during this time, all customers will get a replacement car of equal or higher class to the one they have. On top of all that, BMW is also willing to offer owners the chance to trade in their N63-equipped car and get a new one.
宝马会在召回期间提供一辆代替使用的汽车,这辆替代汽车会等于甚至高于他们所原有的(被召回的)汽车的等级。同时,宝马也会提供车主一个机会去置换他们原有装配N63引擎的车型去购买新的车。
This comes as the perfect response after a lot of people have been complaining about the way BMW treats its customers. Such a move looks like an attempt from the company to make amends for its past mistakes but until we hear from an actual customer that took advantage of this customer care program we can’t say for sure if it worked.

最后一段是总结,与召回无关,我就不翻译了。综上所述,宝马在2014年12月29日宣布召回了装配N63发动机的所有车型。虽然中国的N63保有量不多,但是希望宝马可以全球统一召回,不能忽略那些在中国花费近两百万购置了N63发动机车型的车主,不然这显然是不公平的。
