I’m sure we’ll disagree eventually, but for now it’s another unanimous decision. Even if you threw out the huge cost differential, I would still take the Palisade because it is better at everything I need in a family vehicle.

It has more than enough space for passengers and cargo, even with all three rows up. It’s also comfortable and drives well, the features are unbeatable, the infotainment system so well executed, and it’s more economical to run — the Explorer’s performance comes with a cost at the pumps — and it’s just plain nicer. Anyone that tows a camper or boat might come at this from a different angle, but for the typical suburban family and commuter lifestyle, the Palisade’s well-rounded quality, capability and affordability come out on top.
