GMC has taken the wraps off the 2016 Terrain lineup which comes with a series of minor updates.

The new model year has brought refreshed front and rear fascias with C-shaped lower chrome trim while the SLE, SLT and Denali trims get a chrome-accented grille. There's also an updated power dome hood design, redesigned LED daytime running lights on upper-spec models and 18-inch alloy for non-Denali models / 19-inch rims for Denali version.

Stepping inside the cabin, GMC has revised the instrument panel center stack by adding a storage shelf and also by updating the control graphics. SL and SLE models now come with premium cloth seat fabric while the SLT trim gets a new Saddle Up leather interior. Upgrade to the Denali model and you can select a Light Titanium / Jet Black interior.

The list of upgrades goes on with a new transmission shifter with chrome accents, 8-way power-adjustable front passenger seat for SLT along with Side Blind Zone Alert and Rear Cross Traffic Alert systems for the SLE and SLT. The models will be available with two new exterior paint schemes called Red Tintcoat White Frost Tricoat.

There aren't any changes underneath the hood so customers will have to choose between the same four-cylinder 2.4-liter with 182 bhp & 172 lb-ft and a beefier V6 3.6-liter rated at 301 bhp & 272 lb-ft. 

Following its debut tomorrow at the New York Auto Show, the 2016 GMC Terrain family is scheduled to hit dealerships this fall in the following trims: SL, SLE (SLE-1 & SLE-2), SLT and the range-topping Denali which will be further distinguished by a tri-segment front grille texture.
